RECYCLING for FSW

Recycling is an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment.

Did you know that:

•     1 recycled tin saves energy to power a television for 3 hours.
•    1 recycled glass bottle saves energy to power a computer for 25 minutess.
•    1 recycled plastic bottle saves enough energy to power a 60-watt light bulb for 3 hours.
•    70% less energy is required to recycle paper compared with making it from raw materials.

We are probably all used to home recycling and at Knowles Tooth we are making a big push in 2012 to continue to help families by recycling items that we can use to raise funds - that’s where you come in!  We have several areas that we need your help to recycle:

Mobile phones -  We are pleased to be working in partnership with a local company, forgottenmobile to make this happen.  Fill in the ‘Request an Envelope’ from forgottenmobile.com (or click on the link from the menu on our website). You will be sent a freepost envelope to return your mobile phones in. Simples!  You can also call us at Church House, 01273 425699, and we can make arrangements for you to get  an envelope for your personal use or to receive a collection box for your area/church/community group.

Email - Corporate Donations & Businesses- If you are a business or have a presence in the community and would like collection boxes for people to deposit their phones, please contact forgottenmobile.com who will arrange to have a collection box delivered to you.

CDs, DVDs & Games, Printer cartridges -  More than 1.1 billion inkjet cartridges are used annually around the world - laid end to end this would be 129 times as long as the Great Wall of China.  We will be linking up with a company to recycle all those unwanted printer cartridges so don’t throw them in the bin - give them to us!We’ve now introduced a way for you to be able to turn all your DVDs, CDs and Games into funds for FSW.  Simply pack all your CDs, DVDs & Games and give them to us at Knowles Tooth Childrens Centre.Please don’t forget to include the case and all the original artwork, as we can’t accept your items without them.  All CDs, DVDs, or Games must be in a perfect playing condition and it must have all the original artwork, covers and booklets. The case must be structurally sound although we accept it may have some blemishes incurred during day to day use. 

ITEMS WE DO NOT COLLECT - Items without a barcode , CD singles / CD EPs , Items with missing or badly damaged artwork, Discs which are badly damaged , Copied Discs, Promotional CDs (from newspapers, magazines etc), Vinyl / Tapes / VHS , 6 or more of the same title.

Clothes - We need GOOD CONDITION clothes, shoes (have to be in pairs), handbags and belts which are dropped of to Knowles Tooth Children’s  Centre, Langton Lane,  Hurstpierpoint  BN6 9EZ, Tel:  01273 832363, email:  knowlestooth@familysupportwork.org.uk
